I think I can…I think I can…

We will start our new school year on Monday, January 16 2012.  The schools here typically start last week of January or sometimes first week of February.  In the beginning of our homeschool adventure, I started our school year on the first Monday of January. But, for the past three years or so, oldest son has been away camping with the Boys’ Brigade in early January, so we’ve waited until he got back to start.

So.  School will start on the other side of the weekend and I’m nearly going out of my mind trying to find a workable timetable.  Yes, I’ve heard of unschooling, but with at least one child who needs structure, it’s just not going to work for us.

Oldest is in Year 10 and will be doing Core 300 of Sonlight (20th Century World History), two maths, three sciences.

Second is in Year 8 and will be doing LLATL Gold – UK Literature, Australian History, two maths, three sciences.

Third is in Year 4 and will be doing Core 5  of  Sonlight (Eastern Hemispheres), Gr 4  math,  Sonlight 5 Science.

Fourth is in Prep (Kinder) and will be doing Core K of Sonlight, math, and Sonlight K Science.

If those teachers in one-room schoolhouses could do it, I am sure it is doable.

About yewnique

I am a Malaysian-born woman who is married to an Australian and now live in Melbourne, Australia. I am a mother to four children. I home school. I like reading, writing, and cooking -- not necessarily in that order. I care about grammar and spelling, but am nonchalant about the Oxford Comma. I try to follow Christ's teachings.
