There are now three adults in the Yewnique household.
Eighteen years and one day ago, we went to the Birth Centre when the beginnings of contractions started. Twenty hours and a transfer to the regular maternity ward of a regular hospital 12 minutes away (but felt longer) and an epidural later, a six-pound-two-ounce baby boy was born.
Of all the days of the week his birthday could fall on this year, it fell on a Wednesday – which is the ONE day of the week he goes to school! He took it in stride, however, and baked brownies and chocolate chip peanut butter cookies to take to school to share with his friends.
He asked to have turkey for dinner and that’s what we had.
We’ll have another party next month for the rest of the extended family. 🙂
He hasn’t logged enough hours to go for his driving licence yet; he has 62 hours out of the required 120.
I think this milestone will hit me when he goes to vote for the first time in late November.
What will happen first? Driving licence or voting?
